A bit about me. After all, I pay for this website and it only seems fair. My name is WB Jones and I live in a suburb of Denver, Colorado. I am a 3rd generation native to Colorado. My background is in Information Technology where I am considered a "generalist". I am versatile and can work as a programmer, network engineer, hardware tech, web designer, graphic artist, and many other roles. In other words, I don't really fit into a single category.

I've worked for some big organizations such as US West, Qwest, Nextel, Information Handling Systems, and the Federal Bureau of Reclamation. I've worked for some tiny companies like Vertical Marketing and Custom Sign and Graphics. I've owned my own company, too.

Currently, I am the I.T. System Coordinator for the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder. What is a system coordinator? It's a mixture of being a system analyst, business analyst, and a project manager. Probably the most exciting part of my current job is that I manage the Electronic Voting Equipment for the county.

It's a volatile time in the Elections business around the country, but especially in Colorado. Electronic voting is a very young technology and has many people applauding it as well as criticizing it. As the primary authority for the voting system in Douglas County, I manage the data of the election from creating the ballot to counting and tabulating votes. I have seen the system from the inside and am a big believer that it is a vast improvement over paper ballots.

I am married with two dogs - a 4 year old chocolate lab and a 7 year old beagle. I am an avid motorcyclist, a home brewer, a woodworker, I practice a number of martial arts disciplines, I love to cook (but hate the cleaning up part), enjoy camping and hiking, host Texas Hold 'Em nights for my friends.

2009 is my 20 year High School Reunion.

I have accomplished and done almost everything I've wanted to at this point in my life, and I've had some great adventures along the way. It's been one of those right place/right time things in a lot of cases. I would say that I've had an interesting life so far.

I've worked in law enforcement, I've written articles for a monthly magazine, I've owned my own company and helped others to found and build theirs, I have taught college classes, I have met with foreign dignitaries and local politicians, I accidentally had drinks with the Colorado Rockies, I found refuge from a rainstorm in a golf cart with Arnold Palmer, I used to work out with Mr. Colorado, I played a round of pool with then-Denver Bronco Vance Johnson, I gave an anti-smoking presentation with the great grandson of R.J Reynolds, I've been on the T.V. and Radio.

What's next...? I hope the adventure never ends.
